WE BELIEVE...

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without error as it was originally given by God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1:13 | 2 Peter 1:20-21 | Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6 | Proverbs 30:5
1 Thessalonians 2:13 | Revelation 22:18-19

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. The God of the Bible is the only true God.

Genesis 1:1, 26-27 | 1 Chronicles 29:11-12 | Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19 | 1 Peter 1:2
Psalm 90:2 | John 14:9 | Deuteronomy 6:4, 33:27 | Revelation 1:8 | Isaiah 44:6

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He is fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless perfect human life, was born to a virgin and offered Himself as the perfect substitute, and for the punishment of our sins by dying on the cross. He came back to life after three days which demonstrates His power over sin and death and the acceptance of His payment for our sins. He ascended to Heaven’s glory where He sits at the right hand of the Father and pleads for us. We believe Jesus has and does perform miracles according to His will, not ours. Jesus will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22,23 | Isaiah 9:6 | Philippians 2:5-8 | John 1:1-5, 2:11 | Hebrews 4:14, 15
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 | Romans 1:3-4, 8:34 | Acts 1:9-11 | 1 Timothy 6:14-15
Titus 2:13 | 1 John 5:14 | 2 Corinthians 5:21

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He makes people aware of their need for Jesus Christ and for the believer He encourages, comforts, counsels and intercedes for us. He lives inside every Christian from the moment of salvation and seals them for eternity. He provides the Christian with the power to share the Good News guidance to understand spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer at least one spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17 | John 16:7-13, 14:16-17, 26, 15:26 | Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16, 12:7-11 | Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18 | Galatians 5:22-25 | Romans 8:26-27
Isaiah 11:2 | Luke 1:35

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ alone as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. We must admit that we are sinners and make a choice to turn from that way of life, believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, that He came back to life because He is God, and choose Jesus to be our Savior and Lord. Eternal life begins the moment a person receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

Romans 3:23, 5:1, 8, 6:23, 10:9-10 | Ephesians 2:8, 9 | John 3:18, 14:6
Titus 3:5 Galatians 3:26 | 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Because God gives people eternal life through our faith in Jesus Christ's sacrifice by His grace, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.

John 10:28 | 2 Timothy 1:12 | Hebrews 7:25; 10:10, 14 | 1 Peter 1:3-5
John 19:30 | Ephesians 2:8-9

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God because of our sin, or eternally with God because of salvation by His grace and our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. To be lost is to be eternally separated from God in Hell. To be saved is to be with God eternally enjoying eternal life. Hell is a real place of eternal existence. Those who trust in Jesus will spend eternity with Him, first in heaven, but ultimately in the new heaven and earth.

John 3:16 | Romans 6:23, 8:17-18 | Revelation 20:15, 21:1-4, 22-27

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us have an attitude and actions of disobedience towards God which is called “sin” and we have missed His mark of perfection. Sin separates people from God and so we need a Savior.

Genesis 1:27 | Psalm 8:3-6 | Isaiah 53:6a, 59:1-2 | Romans 3:23 | Hebrews 2:7

Water baptism symbolizes faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is the believer’s declaration of the acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Baptism is not a means of salvation but shows the world that the believer has already been saved. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates the believer’s love and obedience to Christ.

Colossians 2:12 | Acts 2:41 | Ephesians 2: 8-9 | Matthew 28:19-20 | 1 Peter 3:21

Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is a command given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remember His sacrifice for us, and to symbolize the new covenant. The elements of bread and wine or juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a testament of a believer’s faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Matthew 26:26-30 | 1 Corinthians 10:17, 11:23-29 | Luke 22:19-20

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and that we will be recognized as Jesus' disciples out of our love for one another.

1 Corinthians 1:10, 10:17 | Galatians 3:28 | John 13:35, 17:23 | Philippians 2:2-3 | Romans 14:19 | Ephesians 4:11-13 | Colossians 3:13-14 | Psalm 133:1 | 1 Peter 3:8
